Aditi Makim - Course Conductor & TSW Chief Storyteller

This versatile First Assistant Director, Associate Director, Writer, Director and Producer has Worked and imbibed from the best in the Indian Film Industry. 


Aditi has worked with and been mentored by Ronnie Screwvala, Zarina Mehta, Deven Khote, Mansoor Khan, Neeraj Vora, Priyadarshan, Revathy, Atul Sabharwal, Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra. 


She does not claim to be a master or expert herself but has written six screenplays, two of which were commissioned and one has been made into a biopic. 


Aditi is extremely professional, demanding and caring. Aditi has just been on the road a little longer than you and offers you her learnings and others learnings in a easily digestable and applicable way. 


Aditi brings a potpourri of skills learnt through direct experience with the best in the Industry directly on the field. She has learnt that screenwriting is a process like life is a process, one is in it for life.

Vaneeta Sridhar - Course Conductor

A multi-faceted professional. A director turned producer turned non-fiction specialist turned digital head for Zee who has seen practically every side of the media business over 2 and a half decades. 

  

It’s a journey that began before satellite television was even a reality. Vaneeta was one of the youngest directors in the country for UTV when game shows just began on Indian TV. She helmed Surf Dhamaka and saw the advent of multi camera set up in the country. Cut to now: She is been in the business of digital content since its nascency. 


In the meanwhile she has a repertoire of iconic TV projetcs to her credit. Sach Ka Saamna, Kingfisher Calendar Girls, Laughter Challenge, Voice of India, Saregama Star, Surabhi to name a few and has executed events like Star Parivaar Awards, Screen Awards, Ponds Femina Miss India.

  

She has executed on-ground events like the opening of Jhalak Dhiklaa Jaa, spearheaded the EDM event “Rumor – White Dubai “. She was responsible for a lot of events at Dome the last one being Filmfare Awards 2017.


It’s a mix of skills at the highest level that she brings to the table.

Deepti Sharma - Course Assistant

After years in medical and trade journalism, Deepti Sharma decided to turn her lifelong passion for cinema into a full-time job. 


She is a repository of film trivia and an advocate for the Indian story structure with all its heightened drama and instinctive use of music and poetry that makes Indian Cinema stand apart from other commercial film industries.


Not only Deepti an ardent and enthusiastic writer and screenwriter, she is proactive, helpful, a firm and kind taskmaster. 


She will be taking the session on loglines as she has fine tuned the process of coming up with authentic, clear and precise log lines or premises or themes for stories to be converted into screenplays.


She is going to be the go-to person during the week of completing assignments and reiterating the session that has been done as we are discouraging note taking as we are inculcating the art of active listening.


She will keep you spinning during the course, making sure good writing habits prevail each and every participants tendency to lapse into any kind block, procastination or plain laziness.

Participants

Maximum 12 persons in each batch.


Eligibility - Anyone who wishes to see a story they have as a film screenplay. Need to be a member of Screenwriters Association (SWA).

1. Your name, age, gender and location

2. SWA membership number

3. A brief introduction to yourself in not more than 100 words

4. A Statement of Purpose (SOP) in not more than 800 words - why do you want to be a screenwriter? Why do you think you should be part of this programme? What kind of stories do you wish to tell? What do you expect out of this course?


Note: Participants will be selected on the basis of their SOP.


Output

 A complete first draft of a film screenplay. 


Techniques and principles that can be applied to any genre, length and medium.


Weekly rigor of homework and viewing, with regular and timely submissions.


(NOTE: Participant will be asked to leave without refund if discipline of submission is not followed even once.)


Supervised Independent Writing Time (SIWT) - to convert your love of writing into a HABIT. 


A certificate issued by The StoryWeavers Inc. for having completed the course and first draft of a film screenplay.

Price

INR 41,000 for 20 sessions of 90 minutes each plus 6 weeks of SIWT.
